Autobiographic Information at a Glance:
Education has never been a priority in the community and place where I spent my early years. Since survival was difficult in the poor financial resources my father had, it was difficult for me to convince my elders about my educational pursuits. But I showed promise in my career and became financially self sufficient through disability scholarship and tuition money. This enabled me to continue my studies both in school and at college. My physical disability was the real obstacle to overcome; but I had strong will power to walk long distances on rough tracks to reach educational institutions. I could overcome social discouragement through hard work and financial self-sufficiency.
My physical disability prompted me to take up computer education as my career because this involved lesser physical labor. Therefore, I opted science subjects for my graduation, Post graduation and other higher education.
I was conferred District Informatics Officer in NIC Govt. of India in 1997. Presently I am working as Reader and HOD in the computer science department of MAISM, Jaipur (Rajasthan), India. I chose teaching in pursuance of my deep-rooted interest in furthering education and skills. I also provide voluntarily services to persons with disabilities for their education, training and human rights and rehabilitation pursuits so that they can be well settled in the society with dignity. In my own life I have experienced difficulties that particularly disabled persons face while studying, and, therefore I want to help them to overcome their difficulties. I know that a career in computer science and information technology can give them better chance of social and economic self-sufficiency.
To materialize this dream and achieve the goal, I plan to launch a special training and rehabilitation Varsity in Rajasthan for the development of the computer and other related skills among handicapped persons as the most suitable tool for earning their livelihood with dignity, so that they can be utilized as potential and productive human resource in the nation.
I want to search and implement those assistive tools and technologies, which can enable disabled people as efficient manpower. I wish to find out the roles and suitability, assistive tools and technologies, for enhancing their capabilities in Indian environment and working conditions. My mission is to create such environment where disabled could get the rights of equal opportunities, and livelihood with dignity.
